European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie has told his players not to make Twits of themselves this week by imposing a no Twitter ban until the event is finished – only for Graeme McDowell to almost immediately defy his skipper!
His US counterpart has made the same decision, the teams being forbidden to use social networking sites until the competition has ended. They are afraid that one of the players might say something to cause controversy on Twitter like some sport stars have done recently.
But as the ban was announced, golfers from both sides were determined to break it!
